After her K-drama comeback, "Tomorrow" Kim Hee Sun is returning to the big screen with a new movie with Yoo Hae Jin. 

The 44-year-old actress's last film was the 2003 romance drama "A Man Who Went to Mars," and she stars alongside Kim Min Joon and Shin Ha Kyun. 

Interestingly, after 19 years, she might possibly headline a brand new film.

The South Korean beauty is courted to lead the cast of the upcoming film "Sweet Sun."

In an exclusive report cited by Osen, Kim Hee Sun received a proposal to appear as the character for the film and was positively reviewing the offer. 

In addition, the outlet also mentioned that the actress "has high expectations for her return to the film industry."

Kim Hee Sun's new movie, "Sweet Sun," follows the story of love between researcher Mo Tae, who works for a confectionery company. 

Moo Tae then crosses paths with Yoo Hae Jin, who she portrays as her on-screen lover. 

"Sweet Sun" will be directed by Lee Han, the genius behind the success of movies such as "A Melody To Remember" and "Elegant Lies."

Joining him is Lee Byung Hun, who penned Lee Joon Gi's "Again My Life" and directed Park Seo Joon and IU's new movie "Dream."

Produced by Movie Rock and distributed by Mindmark, "Sweet Sun" was initially scheduled to premiere in December 2021 but moved to a later year due to casting delays. 

With the news regarding the possible lead stars, the film is said to begin its production in June and will run for three months.

Kim Hee Sun impressed viewers with her shocking transformation in "Tomorrow."

From being the genius physicist who holds the key to time travel in "Alice," the 44-year-old actress becomes the fearless grim reaper in MBC's action fantasy K-drama. 

She is the feisty Risk Management team leader Goo Ryeon, who works alongside Im Ryung Goo, played by Yun Ji On, and their new member Choi Joon Woong, portrayed by SF9 Rowoon. 

In the drama, viewers are not only swooned by Kim Hee Sun's stylish and chic character but also her on-screen chemistry with Lee Soo Hyuk. 

He plays the Escort Team's elite leader Park Joong Gil who is also Goo Ryeon's husband in their past life. 

In her previous interview ahead of "Tomorrow's" premiere, Kim hee Sun revealed why she chose to star in MBC's action fantasy drama. 

As obtained by Osen, the actress shared that she "wanted to do a drama that comforts everyone. Rather than delivering a great message, I hope that 'Tomorrow' will be a drama that will cheer you up as if through its existence it's saying 'I'm there for you.'"

Interestingly, despite low viewership ratings in Korea, the webtoon-based series gained hype to global audiences, thanks to Netflix. 

Viewers lauded "Tomorrow" for touching on social issues like bullying, harassment, and suicide. 

Unfortunately, Kim Hee Sun's KDrama is set to air its finale episode on May 21 via MBC and Netflix.
