The "Good Boy" of K-drama is slowly returning to his activities after the controversy that almost tainted his career. This prompted the actor to go on months of hiatus and veer away from the spotlight.
Besides this, Kim Seon Ho also dropped out from his current and upcoming projects, including KBS2's entertainment program "2 Days & 1 Night," where he served as the main host. In addition, he also dropped out of films "Dog Days" and "2 O'Clock Date."
Amid the actor's controversy, he was rumored to be hospitalized in October 2021. According to a report, he was rushed to the university hospital near Seongbuk-gu.
At the time, the cause of his hospitalization remained unknown.
YouTuber Lee Jin Ho Reveals Kim Seon Ho's Cause of Health Issue
Nine months after Kim Seon Ho's health scare, former reporter Lee Jin Ho uploaded a video on his YouTube channel on July 9 about the incident regarding the actor's health.
As obtained by a news portal, the YouTuber claimed that the rumors were "true" and the "Start-Up" star suffered health issues because of "extreme stress."
"It was true that Kim Seon Ho suffered from health problems," he said.
He added, "His health immediately weakened due to extreme stress, and he contracted shingles and was hospitalized for a while."
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC,) shingles is a type of viral infection that causes a painful rash. It is caused by "varicella-zoster virus (VZV), the same virus that causes chickenpox."
The YouTuber also spoke about Kim Seon Ho's comeback to theater play through "Touching the Void."
"Actually, in the video that he recently appeared in to promote the play, Kim Seon Ho was caught in a much leaner figure than before, attracting attention," he said.

Ahead of the theater play's premiere, SALT Entertainment teased fans with photos featuring the actor's preparation for "Touching the Void." It includes Kim Seon Ho doing wall climbing as he gears up for his role as mountaineer Joe Simpson.
Kim Seon Ho Returns on Stage with 'Touching the Void'
It officially premiered on July 8 at the Daehak-ro Art One Theater in Seoul and will run until September 18. Kim Seon Ho's theater play focuses on the 1988 book written by mountaineer Joe Simpson.
He and his friend Simon Yates encountered a devastating incident after climbing the Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes.
Interestingly, "Touching the Void" tickets were sold out days before the debut after the public expressed their support for the actor.
On the other hand, YouTuber Lee Jin Ho mentioned in his vlog that Kim Seon Ho managed to return to the theater stage through the "support and encouragement of the members."
Apart from "Touching the Void," he will also have his big-screen debut in the upcoming movie "Sad Tropical," alongside Go Ah Ra, Kim Kang Woo, and rookie actor Kang Tae Joo.
