Will ‘Reborn Rich’ Be Shin Hyun Bin’s Drama Breakthrough? Actress' 'Lackluster' Performance Pointed Out

Apart from Song Joong Ki and veteran actor Lee Sung Min, viewers are drawn to Shin Hyun Bin's portrayal in "Reborn Rich."

In the JTBC series, the 36-year-old actress took the role of Prosecutor Seo Min Young. She is known as the Soonyang Group's grim reaper and works for Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.

Seo Min Young is someone who will do everything to punish criminals and for justice to be served.

Viewers are looking forward to the love-hate relationship of Shin Hyun Bin and Song Joong Ki as the latter portrays Yoon Hyun Woo, one of Soonyang Group's loyal employees but was murdered and framed for embezzlement.

However, he was reborn as the third-generation chaebol and the youngest grandson of Soonyang Group's founder, Jin Yang Chul, played by Lee Sung Min.

K-drama fans would be familiar with Shin Hyun Bin. After making her debut in 2010 in the comedy movie "He's On Duty."

Interestingly, due to her amazing performance in the film, she begged her first-ever acting award after winning Best New Actress at the prestigious Baeksang Arts Awards 2011 as she perfectly portrays Vietnamese migrant worker, Jang Mi.

In the same year, she landed her first ever K-drama appearance in the historical drama series "Warrior Baek Dong Soo" headlined by Ji Chang Wook and Yoo Seung Ho.

Being a rookie actress, it wasn't easy for her to book continuous projects in movies and small screen.

However, due to her charm and beauty, she often got featured in several music videos. It includes Epitone Project's "Hate," Kim Jin Pyo's "I Shouldn't Have Gone" and "Walking Dead" as well as Yesung's "Paper Umbrella" and Sechs Kies' "Don't Look Back."

Despite joining a slew of remarkable projects like the movie "Confidential Assignment" with Hyun Bin and Yoo Hae Jin, and the 2018 K-drama "Mistress," it was the medical K-drama "Hospital Playlist" that gained her popularity.

At the height of the drama's craze, viewers root for Shin Hyun Bin's character, Jang Gyeo Wool to highlight the loveline between her and Ahn Jung Won, played by Yoo Yeon Seok.

What's Next for Shin hyun Bin After 'Hospital Playlist'?

Following the success of "Hospital Playlist 2," Shin Hyun Bin starred in three dramas this 2022.

Apart from "Reborn Rich", she headlined the thriller mystery webtoon-based K-drama "Reflection of You" with the award-winning Go Hyun Jung; however, unlike her drama with Song Joong Ki, struggled to keep the ratings up.

"Reflection of You" wrapped up the season with only 3.178 percent which is the second-highest rating of the show.

It was then followed by another lead role, joining the versatile Goo Kyo Hwan for the disastrous thriller series "Monstrous."

Despite the slow yet steady status of Shin Hyun Bin in the industry, her acting skills and performance are finally gaining the support it deserves as "Reborn Rich" continue to top the charts.
