'Alchemy of Souls' Publishes New Teasers of Lee Jae Wook & Go Yoon Jung
A day before the long-awaited premiere, "Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow" publishes a new set of image teasers of Lee Jae Wook and Go Yoon Jung!
The drama depicts the magical world of powerful mages and a shadow assassin who meet because of a magic that shifts people's souls. The first part of the series aired last summer.
With a new installment, "Alchemy of Souls" is set to dominate the small screen to retell the love story of Jang Uk and Naksu, two mages bound by an enigmatic sorcery.
Previously, Lee Jae Wook paired up with Jung So Min but this time, he will decorate the small screen with Go Yoon Jung who briefly appeared in Part 1.
The newly released teasers capture the vigilance and keen interest of Jang Uk and Naksu with one another after meeting for the first time. In Part 2, Naksu has lost her memories including Jang Uk.

Because of that, she sees him as a threat, causing her to make a bold move and aim her sword at the mysterious man. On the other hand, Jang Uk is left puzzled by the sudden charge of the woman across from him.
Attention is focused on how Jang Uk and Naksu's first meeting goes. Their relationship and how they will reconcile in the drama is also one of the major things to anticipate in the new series.

'Alchemy of Souls' Criticized For Cliche Plot
Last summer, "Alchemy of Souls" had its fair share of allegations of plagiarism, and how it ripped off Chinese dramas. While it wasn't proved that the writers plagiarized other works, the drama once again faces criticisms for its cliche narrative.
As seen in the new teasers, the drama takes the route of lost memories and repressed feelings. In fact, the words "I can't remember you" were written on Go Yoon Jung's individual poster that was released before.
The concept of the series was deemed cliche, which was a total opposite of the complex storyline that "Alchemy of Souls" showed in Part 1.
Despite the criticisms, Lee Jae Wook and Go Yoon Jung's drama is still one of the most anticipated works this 2022.
