The drama significantly recorded higher viewership rating than its predecessor "Fanletter, Please," which premiered with an average score of 2.0 percent last November. The series stars SNSD's Choi Sooyoung and Yoon Park.
"The Forbidden Marriage" is based on the web novel of the same title. It follows the story of King Lee Heon, who is in deep sorrow after the death of his wife, Crown Princess Ja Yeon.
Due to the loneliness and despair he experienced, the king ended up banning marriage in Joseon.
