Lee Se Young, who was loved for her role in "The Law Cafe," did not attend the 2022 KBS Acting Award held on December 31. In the K-drama, she left a strong impression by showing her magic that offset her roles from her previous works through clothes that boasts different kinds of patterns. 

According to a report, she was unable to attend the annual ceremony due to personal reasons, but Lee Seung Gi, who she co-starred in the series, was able to make it and even received the grand prize despite his battle with his former agency.

'The Law Cafe' Fails To Be Recognized at 2022 KBS Acting Awards

The finale episode of "The Law Cafe" recorded an average of 5.2 percent based on Nielsen Korea's report. It soared to a maximum of 6.2 percent per minute, ending as the strongest Monday-Tuesday drama, and kept No. 1 for 16 consecutive times.

Therefore, fans expected that the series would win at least four to five medals at the year-end ceremony.

However, "The Law Cafe" failed to receive multiple awards. It has been said that Lee Se Young's absence affected the team, which won only two awards.

Lee Se Young's name could not be found in the list of winners even though she was praised for leading the work perfectly, as well as being the center of the drama with her amazing acting skills.

Lee Seung Gi's Speech Hints At Unfair Treatment

Lee Seung Gi was also conscious of this, and during his acceptance speech after receiving the grand prize, he said, "I heard that 'The Law Cafe' was the first work in KBS to make a hit in years. Relatively, the actors of the drama seem to have returned empty-handed tonight."

It is inevitable to point out that the KBS Drama Awards also selected the winners by "popularity" and "attendance" rather than "acting."

Though Lee Se Young did not receive a solo award, the public is aware that she has shown her best in the series.
