THIS 'The Glory' Star Experienced Cruelty During Childhood? Here's What Happened

With the success of the show, fans clamor to know more about its actors. In a recent interview, Jung Sung Il displayed intense emotion and talked about his difficult childhood.

Jung Sung Il Opens Up About Difficult Childhood

From "Bad and Crazy," "Our Blues" and most recently "The Glory," Jung Sung Il stole everyone's attention with this gripping performance!

In the Netflix drama "The Glory," the actor played the role of Ha Do Young, a man married to a former school violence offender who takes interest in the latter's former victim, played by Song Hye Kyo.

His intense chemistry with the actress didn't go unnoticed by the viewers, causing the public to demand for more two shot scenes with the two of them.

In a recent guest appearance on "You Quiz on the Block," Jung Sung Il opened up and talked about his childhood. Though he didn't experience the same thing as the main character in "The Glory," he also went through difficulties.

Jung Sung Il came from a broken family. According to him, his father was never home and his mother was physically ill.

He and his older sister learned to fend for themselves because of their absent parents. Their grandmother who used to look after them was also sick.

Instead of being taken care of, they were the ones who took care of their grandmother. Jung Sung Il recalls the time when they even helped her to defecate, and drinking water from sidewalk blocks filled with sand.

When their grandmother and mother passed away, his older sister raised him alone on her own. Because of this, he was determined to be successful in giving back to his sister.

He stated, "I didn't go to college. I focused on broadcasting and entertainment and that's how I became an actor."

Thankfully, his hard work paid off. With his impressive dramas and films, Jung Sung Il is certainly among the most famous stars today.

What To Anticipate In 'The Glory Part 2'

In the forthcoming Part 2 of Netflix's highly rated series "The Glory," all loose ends are expected to be neatly tied.

Song Hye Kyo, who laid her best revenge plan, is predicted to finally succeed. Lim Ji Yeon and her friends, the people who made every victim's life a living hell, will face the consequences of their actions.

One of the most interesting things to watch for is the love line between the main characters played by Song Hye Kyo, Lee Do Hyun and Jung Sung Il.

This love triangle has kept fans on their toes. In Part 2, avid viewers wish to see Song Hye Kyo end up with the lead actor that they are rooting for.
