From being a member of the biggest girl group in the world, BLACKPINK Jisoo challenged herself with acting and made her drama debut with "Snowdrop" in 2021.

This 2023, the singer-actress hints at her return to the small screen. Unfortunately, this doesn't receive a lot of positive feedback from the public. Here's why.

BLACKPINK Jisoo Receives Flak For Mediocre Acting Skills

Two years after she made her acting debut, BLACKPINK Jisoo hints at her return to the small screen!

Known for her god-tier visuals and distinct vocals, Jisoo also widened her career spectrum after she headlined the controversial noir drama "Snowdrop" with Jung Hae In in 2021.

Fans and avid K-drama viewers received the drama with positive minds as the singer-actress left an impactful impression through her acting role.

In her recent interview with GQ magazine, Jisoo hinted at her desire to return to the small screen with an even more challenging role, particularly a superheroine.

Jisoo shared, "I have a knack for action. I earned a white belt in Taekwondo when I was young. I know I can do well."

However, the public disagrees with the "Snowdrop" actress. Mixed reactions were drawn from the fans and critics alike. Though many admire Jisoo's confidence, some viewers still find her acting "lacking."

One commenter said, "Jisoo should practice more before showing such confidence. Her acting is mediocre compared to other idol-actresses in her generation."

Another commenter stated that Jisoo only scored the "Snowdrop" acting role due to her connections and not because of her subpar skills in acting.

Many viewers defended Jisoo from malicious comments, saying that she is still a rookie actress who doesn't deserve to receive negative comments.

Jisoo's performance in "Snowdrop" was criticized by the public due to her somewhat unnatural diction that hindered her ability to showcase her character's emotions.

But as the drama progresses, Jisoo improved in delivering her lines and emotions, gradually earning the nickname "new generation's melodrama queen."

Where To See 'Snowdrop' Stars Jisoo & Jung Hae In

Although Jisoo has expressed her desire to return to the small screen, there's no news of her return to the small screen.

At the moment, Jisoo is busy with her fellow BLACKPINK members as they gear up for their world tour "BORN PINK" in Asia.

As for Jung Hae In, the actor is preparing for his upcoming noir series "Connect," which focuses on the revenge of a man whose body parts gets stolen by organ hunters.

Moreover, he also busies himself with the new season of his Netflix blockbuster hit "D.P." with Goo Kyo Hwan, Kim Sung Kyun and Son Seok Koo.

With that, "Connect" is scheduled to air in the second quarter of 2023, while "D.P." hasn't released its official premiere date yet. Don't miss it!
