As the K-Drama scene grows larger each year, many actors have also become more westernized when it comes to aesthetics.

Some of them even took the leap into having their bodies permanently inked despite the heavy stigma that comes with it.

However, many K-Drama actors believe that tattoos are art and their own way to interpret themselves, and here are five of them.

Jung Ryeo Won

Jung Ryeo Won wasn't afraid to come out of her comfort zone. Despite her ultra-feminine image, the "Witch at Court" star had her body inked!

In her inner arms, the word "epignosis" is tattooed on her, which means that what your mind knows, your spirit does, too.

According to the actress, she chose the tattoo for her to be reminded that everyday is a new day to learn new things to enhance the mind, body and spirit.

So Ji Sub

So Ji Sub has never denied nor hidden the fact that he has tattoos on his body. In fact, he loves showing them off in many of his photoshoots.

The "Doctor Lawyer" star has a skull tattoo on his arm and a diamond with "51K" inside on his back. It is a symbol of his own agency, which means that he will always choose to dream while enjoying living life.

Ji Chang Wook

Though Ji Chang Wook has played a character with tattoos in his drama "The K2," the real tattoo of the actor is hidden!

Ji Chang Wook has ink around his thigh, which contains the structure of Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, Barcelona, Spain.

The actor also has the words "para mi felicidad" which means "for my happiness" in Spanish tattooed on his skin.

Han So Hee

Han So Hee's tattoos are not a secret to fans as the "My Name" star's photos circulated online before.

The actress' flower tattoos were etched on her arms and hip where fans can easily see them. However, Han So Hee had it removed when she joined the cast of "The World of Married," following her breakthrough.

IU

Singer-actress IU doesn't actually have a tattoo on her skin. However, she shared that she once thought about getting one.

The "Hotel del Luna" star hasn't been seen having ink on her body but fans were given a treat when IU planted a temporary tattoo of a star on her neck for one of her music videos!
