Song Hye Kyo’s ‘The Glory’ Part 2 Ranks 3rd on Netflix’s Global Ranking
South Korean superstar Song Hye Kyo finally returned with her revenge series "The Glory" Part 2. With the continuation unveiled, the K-drama immediately dominated Netflix's global rankings.
'The Glory' Part 2 Attains Global Popularity
On March 12, Flix Patrol reported that Song Hye Kyo's "The Glory" Part 2 ranked third in the world in the Netflix TV program category during its release.
In particular, the revenge drama ranked first in 26 countries, including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Bolivia, Nigeria, and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, the series ranked second in 13 countries, namely France, Brazil, Costa Rica, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Jamaica, Morocco, Kuwait, Pakistan, Oman, and Turkey.
"The Glory" ranked third in the countries of the United States, Canada, Poland, Colombia, Hungary, Bahrain, India, Kenya, and Maldives.
A day after the Part 2 was released on March 10, it immediately occupied the third spot not only in Asia but also in the US, North America, and Canada.
The Korean drama also has a growing popularity in South America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe, which is why it is expected that "The Glory's" ranking might rise further over time.
Netflix's "The Glory" follows the story of Moon Dong Eun, a victim of bullying and school violence. When she finally becomes an adult, she gets her revenge against the perpetrators. Part 1 was released on December 30, 2022.
'The Glory' Behind-the-Scenes: Song Hye Kyo Did This For the Drama
To give her best and fully immerse herself in the character of Moon Dong Eun, Song Hye Kyo confessed to doing these before filming.
The Hallyu star said in one of her interviews that she dressed up the burn wounds for 4 to 5 hours while almost naked. She also hardly ate any food for three days and didn't drink much water from the day before the shooting. The actress added that it was the scene filmed with the most care in season 2.
Meanwhile, for "The Glory" part 2, Song Hye Kyo shared, "It is an important scene in Part 2" for the line "Don't laugh like that," which drew attention during the drama's video teaser.
According to the lead star, "I filmed that scene in the latter half of the filming. There I was almost 100% Moon Dong Eun at that time."
