Kim Sae Ron’s Lawyer Says Actress is in ‘a Lot of Debt’ to her Former Agency
After receiving online hate from the public, Kim Sae Ron's legal representative spoke out on the actress' current state after attending her first trial.
The former child star, who made her on-screen debut at the age of 9, is facing a fine worth 20 million KRW (15,000 USD) for her drinking under the influence (DUI) case.
The consequence comes after "The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim" star have violated the Road Traffic Act back in May 2022 after she drove her SUV intoxicated.
As a result, the 22-year-old actress rammed public property, including a guardrail, road verge, and electric trasnformer on the street of Gangnam. It was also found out that her blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level was 0.2 percent and enough to revoke her driver's license.
Kim Sae Ron DUI Update: Highlight During the First Trial
During her court appearance, Kim Sae Ron expressed how she regrets her action and apologized for the inconvenience she has caused.
Moreover, she also revealed she is struggling financially since she is also the head of the family.
"I've quit drinking and sold my car. I'm the breadwinner of my family, and it's been difficult for me to make ends meet," she said, as obtained by various outlets.
On the other hand, the public seemed to doubt her revelation and even sparked online fury after posting a photo of herself working part-time at a cafe.
Kim Sae Ron's Lawyer Attests to the Actress' Financial Struggles
As Kim Sae Ron made it to headlines, her legal counsel defends the former child star and says that she is indeed working.
As obtained by a news portal, the lawyer mentioned the actress economic situation, pointing out that the "Leverage" star "works part-time because of the hardships of life."

In addition, the legal representative says that Kim Sae Ron is in huge debt from her former agency due to the penalties and compensations that she has to cover.
Moreover, her side also revealed that she has no property and the only asset she has was her car.
"Kim Sae Ron did not have money, so the agency had no choice but to compensate the victims, such as nearby merchants, with the charter deposit," the lawyer said, adding that the actress is in the process of paying her former agency, GOLD Medalist.
To recall, the 22-year-old star left her longtime agency in December 2022.
On the other hand, regarding her part-time work, GOLD Medalist previously confirmed that she is working at a cafe but didn't mention what company or brand it is.
However, days after her first trial, Kim Sae Ron's Instagram featured a series of photos where the actress is wearing an apron and making beverages.
Unfortunately, the franchise coffee, which was seen on the actress' Instagram denied that the 22-year-old is working under them.
The news comes after the company's public relation official released a statement saying that Kim Sae Ron "has never worked part-time" at their company and it was her friend.
"Currently, the part-timer known as Kim Sae Ron's friend quit in September last year, so I don't know exactly how these photos were taken," the official mentioned.
