Kim Sae Ron Being Head of Family Questioned by Public – Here’s Why
Following her first trial, Kim Sae Ron is in hot waters after the public questioned her statement, appealing to the court that she is the head of their family.
On March 8, the celebrity attended the trial at the Seoul Central District Court on drunk driving charges in Seoul in 2022. However, as the actress admits to the charges, the public questions why she is the head of the family at 22.
Kim Sae Ron Raises Being the Breadwinner of the Family to Court
On her first trial, Kim Sae Ron apologized for the inconvenience she caused to the neighborhood. The actress also said she "regrets" and "reflects" on her action, and promised it "will never happen again."
Kim Sae Ron also mentioned to the court her struggles, including making ends meet since she is the head of the family.
"I've quit drinking and sold my car. I'm the breadwinner of my family, and it's been difficult for me to make ends meet," she said, adding, "Please have mercy on me."
However, her plea confused the public. People now question why she had to bring up being the head of the family when she was only 22.
According to a news portal, some didn't understand why the actress, who is in her early 20s, is the family's sole provider despite her mother being young and able.
Although the occupation of Kim Sae Ron's parents was unknown, her mother was born in 1980, making her only 42 years old.

Moreover, she often mentions her mother in her previous shows, noting that her mother used to be a "magazine model and she wanted to become a celebrity."
Unfortunately, she got pregnant and had to give up her dreams of becoming a celebrity after giving birth to Kim Sae Ron.
On the other hand, the actress has younger siblings, Kim Ah Ron and Kim Ye Ron, who are both active in the industry.
The public questioned the actress's plea, asking if her mother was working. Some even pointed out that her mother is still young and could help financially. Some also brought up Kim Sae Ron driving a luxury car but said in court that "she is having financial difficulty."
Kim Sae Ron Works Part-Time to Pay Off Settlement, Advertising Penalties
Prior to the trial, the news sparked that Kim Sae Ron works a part-time job at a cafe. Her then-agency, GOLD Medalist, confirmed it, saying that the actress "did spend some time working part-time at a cafe due to her financial difficulties," pertaining to covering the damage caused by the incident, settlement money, and advertising penalties.
In addition, she also dropped out of the upcoming K-drama "Trolley" and left her agency in December 2022.
Besides the settlement money and penalties, she also faces a fine of 20 million KRW or around 15,000 USD for her DUI charges.
As for the subsequent trial, Kim Sae Ron is set to appear in court on April 5.
