Kim Sae Ron is set to make a comeback to the small screen after the scandal-ridden actress will continue to appear in the upcoming K-drama "Bloodhounds."

The former child star has been hounded by criticism after being involved in a drunk driving incident back in 2022. Although "The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim" star stepped down for her role in the SBS drama "Trolley," Kim Sae Ron is reportedly keeping her character in the forthcoming Netflix series.

Kim Sae Ron Still Part of 'Bloodhounds' Cast Amid DUI Charges

As obtained by a news portal, the report cited that the 22-year-old actress will continue to be part of "Bloodhounds." Reports say that her appearance was not completely edited out but was kept to a minimum.

According to the media outlet, the production team explained that it would be impossible to totally exclude her character since they would have to make a significant change to the storyline.

As for the rumors regarding Kim Sae Ron's replacement, the production team explained that the 22-year-old actress and Jung Da Eun will not have the same character.

To recall, rookie actress Jung Da Eun is reportedly replacing Kim Sae Ron for her character in "Bloodhounds" following her resignation from the upcoming SBS series and amid the controversy surrounding her DUI charges.

Jung Da Eun appeared to have had supporting roles in various K-dramas like "Love Revolution," "D.P.," and "Our Blooming Youth."

Netflix Responds to Update Regarding Kim Se Ron's Appearance in 'Bloodhounds'

As mentioned by a different media outlet, Netflix released a statement addressing an update regarding Kim Sae Ron's appearance in "Bloodhounds."

In a statement, the streaming giant echoed the same stance as the production company and confirmed that the actress will still continue to play her character.

"Kim Sae Ron will not be completely edited out. It is difficult to tell you about the details of her screen time because it's currently under discussion," the representative explained.

Kim Sae Ron's Career Affected by DUI

Back in May 2022, Kim Sae Ron was investigated for DUI after crashing her SUV into a structure while driving around Cheongdam in Gangnam District. At the time, the incident caused great inconvenience to the neighborhood, and public properties were also damaged.

However, despite her public apology, the incident had a major blow on her career.
