On May 1 EST, popular stars and fashion icons were gathered in New York City for the long anticipated event of the year, the Met Gala!

Many stars were present at the 2023 Met Gala like Doja Cat, Anne Hathaway, Michelle Yeoh, Jared Leto and more, parading their sophistication and designer-woven dresses.

This year's Met Gala's theme is "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," which is aimed to celebrate the life and works of Karl Lagerfeld. He was the creative director for famous fashion houses like Balmain, Patou and Chanel.

Hallyu superstar Song Hye Kyo was also present at the celebration, donning a Fendi champagne-colored drape dress that perfectly hugged her body. Fans all around the world left compliments on the "The Glory" star's photos. One fan described Song Hye Kyo as a "personified goddess."

However, not all reactions were positive as many spectators also criticized the Hallyu star's look. Some viewers stated that her dress, makeup and even her hair don't go along with the theme. "It's ugly. Her dress looks so plain and her hairstyle makes her face look long," one fan stated, expressing their disappointment.

Song Hye Kyo's fans come and defend the actress, saying that the look is perfectly aligned to the theme which they simply described as "masterpiece from the vault that Karl would have loved."

In particular, Song Hye Kyo proved her popularity and influence as she made it to the most mentioned celebrity list at the 2023 Met Gala along with BLACKPINK Jennie, Doja Cat, Anne Hathaway and Rihanna!

Song Hye Kyo Hailed As Best Actress of 2023

Earlier this month, Song Hye Kyo enjoyed the applause and recognition for her craft as she was named Best Actress of the Year!

The Hallyu fan-favorite won the Best Actress in a Television Drama award at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2023 for her performance in Netflix's "The Glory," beating Kim Hye Soo, Park Eun Bin and Suzy.

Song Hye Kyo wowed the viewers with her superb acting chops as a school violence victim who becomes the perpetrator in punishing the people who have hurt her in the past.

"The Glory" has become the most streamed work on Netflix and up until this writing, the love for the series is still burning with passion.

Moreover, the series also won the Best Drama Award while Lim Ji Yeon, who played the main villain, also took home the Best Supporting Actress Award.
