Uhm Jung Hwa Receives High Praise For 'Doctor Cha' Performance
Uhm Jung Hwa recently returned to the limelight with the medical series "Doctor Cha."
The drama tells the life of a homemaker who pursues her career as a doctor in her second life after cheating death.
She impressed the viewers after she took on the challenge as a high-spirited mother who has a big heart not only for her family but also her patients. Many have reviewed the work and gave the actress high praises as well as the rest of the cast.
On May 7, "Doctor Cha" released its eighth episode where Uhm Jung Hwa showed off her femme fatale aura as she hints at her revenge from her cheating husband, played by Kim Byung Chul.
In addition to that, she also received compliments for her chemistry with the ensemble, especially Min Woo Hyuk and Baek Joo Hee who play Roy Kim and Baek Mi Hee, respectively.
Moreover, "Doctor Cha" achieved a score of 16.2% in its eighth episode, marking the fifth highest ratings in JTBC history, following "The World of the Married," "Reborn Rich," "SKY Castle" and "Itaewon Class."
Uhm Jung Hwa Opens Up About Her Fear of Marriage & More
At 53, Uhm Jung Hwa still has no ring around her finger, making the public wonder about the "Doctor Cha" star's plans on marriage.
In an interview in the past, Uhm Jung Hwa opened up her fear of marriage and becoming a mother. While she's a great maternal figure in most dramas, she's not sure if she'll do great in real life.

"Married life and having children sound appealing to me but I'm afraid I might not be able to rear a family while working at the same time," Uhm Jung Hwa stated.
In addition to that, she's also afraid of being left alone since her father passed away at a young age. After that, Uhm Jung Hwa's mother struggled a lot.
In 2010, Uhm Jung Hwa was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and thankfully, she survived the disease. Due to this, she vowed to focus on herself and her career, and make the best out of it.
However, the Hallyu superstar isn't closing her doors to marriage. She told Park Jong Hoon in an interview that she wants to live happily married in spite of her immense fear.
"I just want to explore life more and fulfill my dreams before settling down," Uhm Jung Hwa said, satisfying the viewers.
