For six weeks, JTBC's medical drama "Doctor Cha" has dominated the entertainment scene. Fans from all around the globe have tuned in to Uhm Jung Hwa's Cha Jung Suk's life and determination in becoming a renowned surgeon.

Thanks to its premise and flawless casting, "Doctor Cha" was well-received by the public. It also unlocked milestone after milestone, much to fans' delight.

With only two weeks left, the excitement index is set to a new high. On May 20, Uhm Jung Hwa fueled the heat as she discussed the drama's approaching conclusion.

The legendary star continues to cause a "Cha Jung Suk craze" with her impeccable performance in the JTBC drama. The actress has nothing but utmost gratitude to fans who have supported her since the premiere.

"I wake up every day with a full heart," Uhm Jung Hwa stated. "I know there are many Cha Jung Suks in the world and I'm delighted to laugh and cry with her in sympathy."

In particular, it's one of the reasons why she chose "Doctor Cha" as her comeback series. Because of her thyroid cancer and age, she felt that the work offers for her are decreasing.

Uhm Jung Hwa To Play Villain In Future Works

This 2023, the "Doctor Cha" star celebrates her 30th anniversary as a Hallyu star. With that, fans are curious about her future plans as she's one of the older stars who are still active in the industry.

Uhm Jung Hwa simply wants to become happy in 10 years. She added, "I wish I can play the roles I can take on without regrets."

Having said that, she confessed that she's interested in playing a role like Park Yeon Jin in the Netflix series "The Glory."

Because she hasn't done any villainous work before, playing an antagonist role would be a great challenge for the actress.
