Ma Dong Seok revealed that due to an injury, he had to "give up" his dream of becoming a professional boxer and do action movies and TV shows instead.

" I didn't give up on that mind until the end, so it came true," he said, adding, "After more than 120 movies and dramas, I will continue to do many works, but "The Roundup" series contains a lot of my life. In that sense, it is a work that feels more precious than pride," he explained.

In 2017, the 52-year-old star headlined "The Outlaws." It is the first installment of "The Roundup," where detective Ma Suk Do was first introduced to the public.

The said movie is based on a true story that happened between 2004 and 2007, known as the "Heuksapa Incident."

Following the success of the movie, a sequel was released in 2022, headlined by Ma Dong Seok and Son Seok Koo as the villain.

For the actor, it's his love for the job, fate, and seeing acting, especially action, as his "life."

Moreover, the Korean-American star said that acting and doing action projects "is something that becomes everything without giving a trivial reason."

Besides the recently premiered movie, the fourth sequel to the movie "The Roundup: Punishment" is set to be released in the coming future.
