Following the update on the "Squid Game" season 2 cast, viewers expressed mixed reactions regarding the lineup.

While some expressed their excitement to see notable stars join the sequel, many criticized Netflix for not including actresses and rookies.

Due to this, the streaming giant issued a brief statement addressing the issue.

"We are planning to release additional information about the characters in 'Squid Game 2,'" as mentioned by Netflix.

After this, a list of actresses was rumored to appear in "Squid Game" season 2.

First on the list is Park Gyu Young, who is set to play one of the lead stars.

She is known for her roles in "Sweet Home," "Romance Is A Bonus Book," "Nokdu Flower," and, of course, "Dali & the Cocky Prince."

The actress was also nominated for Best New TV Actress at the 2021 Baeksang Arts Awards for her performance in "Sweet Home."

However, following the rumors regarding her appearance in "Squid Game" season 2, her agency, Saram Entertainment, said that they "cannot confirm" the information regarding the casting.

On the same day of Park Gyu Young's rumored casting in the upcoming sequel, outlets mentioned that former IZ*ONE member Jo Yu Ri was reportedly selected as one of the cast members.

Like Park Gyu Young, the singer-actress' agency, WAKEONE Entertainment, couldn't confirm the details.

Adding to the list of rumored actresses joining the K-drama is Kim Si Eun, who bagged Best New Actress for Movie at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards for her performance in "Next Sohee" with Bae Doona.

Netflix immediately clarified the update, saying, "It is difficult to confirm."

Last on the list, and the latest actress who is reportedly appearing as one of the cast members, is Won Ji An.

According to a news portal, she is currently in talks to join "Squid Game" season 2, but the streaming giant and Won Ji An's agency were unable to confirm if she is among the official cast.
