BIGBANG's TOP, Jo Yu Ri, More: Netflix Introduces Final Cast for ‘Squid Game’ Season 2
The long wait is over for fans as Netflix dropped the additional cast members for "Squid Game" season 2! On the streaming giant's official Instagram, Netflix has rounded out new characters in the highly-anticipated sequel.
'Squid Game' Season 2 Cast: Meet the New Stars Joining the Sequel
Dropping the latest update regarding "Squid Game" Season 2, the streaming platform showcased eight new cast members joining the series.
Following the casting rumors surrounding the show's second season, Park Gyu Young, Jo Yu Ri, and Won Ji An have been officially announced to be joining the lineup.
To recall, after being criticized for not including female characters, various outlets shared that the trio had been selected for the series.
Park Gyu Young is known for her role in "Sweet Home," while Won Ji An appeared in "D.P."
As for Jo Yu Ri, she is a former member of IZ*ONE and also made a cameo in "Work Later, Drink Now " season 2.
Additional "Squid Game" cast members include "Move to Heaven" actress Kang Ae Sim, Lee David from "Law School," and rookie actor Roh Jae Won.
Interestingly, the upcoming sequel also added amazing actors who will be joining the show.
Choi Seung Hyun, known by his stage name as BIGBANG's T.O.P, will return to acting for the first time in six years as he officially joins "Squid Game" Season 2.

In addition, Lee Jin Wook, who will also headline the upcoming "Sweet Home" Season 2, will portray as one of the main characters.
With this, the 8 new cast members will be joining Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Gong Yoo, and newcomers Kang Ha Neul, Im Siwan, Park Sung Hoon, and Yang Dong Geun, whose appearance was initially confirmed by Netflix.

After dropping the list of new cast members, Netflix unveiled the behind-the-scenes photos during script reading. Teasing viewers with the cast members' chemistry, the streaming giant hints at "a story that will shock the world once again."

It can be recalled how the first season took the world by storm, landing "Squid Game" as the most popular series of all time, with over 1.65 billion view hours in its first 28 days.
Due to the public's demand, director and creator Hwang Dong Hyuk got the green light for a new sequel. He initially mentioned that Season 2 would focus more on the frontman and how he ended up as part of the organization.
It was revealed in Season 1 that the frontman, played by Lee Byung Hun, used to be one of the survivors and the winner of the game.
On the other hand, some speculated that Seong Gi Hoon, portrayed by Lee Jung Jae, might possibly join the game in hopes of stopping the organization.
As of this writing, there's no official announcement yet regarding the release date, but Netflix plans to premiere "Squid Game" Season 2 in 2024.
