As for Jo Yu Ri, she is a former member of IZ*ONE and also made a cameo in "Work Later, Drink Now " season 2.

What to Expect in 'Squid Game' Season 2?

After dropping the list of new cast members, Netflix unveiled the behind-the-scenes photos during script reading. Teasing viewers with the cast members' chemistry, the streaming giant hints at "a story that will shock the world once again."

It can be recalled how the first season took the world by storm, landing "Squid Game" as the most popular series of all time, with over 1.65 billion view hours in its first 28 days.

Due to the public's demand, director and creator Hwang Dong Hyuk got the green light for a new sequel. He initially mentioned that Season 2 would focus more on the frontman and how he ended up as part of the organization.

It was revealed in Season 1 that the frontman, played by Lee Byung Hun, used to be one of the survivors and the winner of the game.

On the other hand, some speculated that Seong Gi Hoon, portrayed by Lee Jung Jae, might possibly join the game in hopes of stopping the organization.

As of this writing, there's no official announcement yet regarding the release date, but Netflix plans to premiere "Squid Game" Season 2 in 2024.
