Lee Jung Jae is reportedly helping save BIGBANG T.O.P.'s career after recommending him as one of the cast members of "Squid Game" season 2.

After Netflix officially dropped the additional cast for the highly anticipated K-drama "Squid Game" season 2, rumors sparked that BIGBANG's T.O.P. joined the sequel because of Lee Jung Jae.

On June 29, the streaming giant introduced 8 new additional cast members who will be joining the series. 

Park Gyu Young, former IZ*ONE member Jo Yu Ri, Won Ji An, Lee Jin Wook, David Lee, Noh Jae Won, Kang Ae Shim, and BIGBANG's T.O.P. are confirmed to appear in "Squid Game" season 2.

Interestingly, they will be joining returning and new cast members like Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Gong Yoo, Im Siwan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, and Yang Dong Geun.

In addition, Netflix also dropped behind-the-scenes snaps during the show's script reading featuring the cast members.

As  BIGBANG's T.O.P. appearance in the sequel surprised the fans, Dispatch revealed the reason behind the K-pop star joining the series.

Lee Jung Jae Reportedly Recommended BIGBANG's T.O.P. as 'Squid Game' Season 2 Cast

In an exclusive report cited by the outlet, Lee Jung Jae plays a big role in recruiting BIGBANG's T.O.P. as one of the cast members.

As mentioned by Dispatch, the award-winning actor is reportedly "helping" the K-pop star revive his career. 

Moreover, Lee Jung Jae is said to be recruiting the singer-actor for his projects, but it was only in 'Squid Game" season 2 that BIGBANG's T.O.P. got the offer.

To recall, the K-Pop star experienced a slump in his career after he got involved in marijuana usage, which prompted him to quit the show business.

Interestingly, "Squid Game" season 2, which is BIGBANG T.O.P.'s first K-drama appearance in 7 years, might be the redemption of his career.

As for Lee Jung Jae and the K-Pop star's closeness, Dispatch also revealed that the actor and T.O.P. were close friends, sharing common hobbies like visiting art museums and festivals, and were even spotted having wine nights at Im Se Ryung's restaurant.

BIGBANG T.O.P.'s Agency Briefly About Dispatch's Report

On the other hand, the K-Pop star's agency has responded to claims regarding Lee Jung Jae's involvement with T.O.P.'s casting in "Squid Game" season 2. 

As obtained by the media outlet, his representative said, "We cannot say anything other than the official statement from Netflix."

Meanwhile, Lee Jung Jae's agency, Artist Company, as well as Netflix told MBC they are looking into the matter.
