Dating other nationalities is quite common in this day and age. However, it's different when you are a Korean celebrity.
Being in show business might be challenging when it comes to dating since the public and media would express their opinion on someone else's dating preference. But despite the cultural differences, these Korean stars chose to date and even married foreigners.
Song Joong Ki and Katy Louise Saunders
Song Joong Ki surprised the public when he confirmed that he is in a relationship in 2022. At the time, the identity of the woman was unknown, but various outlets said that the "Reborn Rich" star was dating a British actress.
Weeks later, Song Joong Ki delivered a bombshell news, announcing his marriage to Katy Louise Saunders. Following this, they announced that they were expecting their firstborn.
In June 2023, the actor's agency, High Zium Studio, confirmed the news that the South Korean star and Katy Louise Saunders had welcomed a baby boy in Italy, which is also the hometown of Song Joong Ki's wife.

Moreover, he also updated fans over at his official fan cafe and mentioned how thrilled he is now that he is a father.
"As we welcomed [our child] in good health and joy, I am taking care of my family very happily, with a grateful heart," he wrote, as obtained by a media outlet.
Bae Doona and Jim Sturgess
Unlike Song Joong Ki and Katy Louise Saunders, award-winning actress Bae Doona and British actor Jim Sturgess did not end up together.
Back in 2013, entertainment websites reported that the two were in a romantic relationship after being spotted together on the streets of Venice Beach.
Moreover, Bae Doona and Jim Sturgess were also part of Andy and Lana Wachowski's movie "Cloud Atlas," where they played as a couple.
However, two years after dating rumors circulated, Bae Doona's agency confirmed that the couple broke up.
"They are not together anymore. But we can't give any further details," the agency said, as obtained by Korea Joongang Daily.
Choo Ja Hyun and Yu Xiaoguang
Best known for her films like "Bloody Tie" and "Portrait of a Beauty," Korean actress Choo Ja Hyun is also popular in China and starred in series, titled "Hu Xian" and "Turbulence of the Mu Clan."
Due to her projects in the country, she met Chinese actor Yu Xiaoguang after starring in the same TV show. The duo got married in 2017 and appeared on SBS's reality TV show "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny."
