Celebrities having a career and at the same time starting a growing family became a hot topic in the industry after Song Joong Ki shared a controversial remark about being a father and keeping his job.

After the Hallyu star confirmed his relationship with British actress Katy Louise Saunders, all eyes are on the South Korean top star, as fans and the media are eager to know the latest updates between the couple.

However, Song Joong Ki had an interesting 2023 after he announced his marriage to the actress while at the same time having a child.

Interestingly, the long wait is over for the first time parents after the couple welcomed a healthy baby boy on June 14.

Although his agency, High Zium Studio, confirmed it with an official statement, Song Joong Ki also made the announcement on his fan cafe.

"This is like the most precious gift both of us have received, as it is our biggest dream to set up a happy family," he said.

Weeks later, after Song Joong Ki's baby was born, the actor found himself in hot water after expressing the possible changes in his career now that he is a father.

"Sometimes, being a father being a husband means losing a job in this show business", he said during the interview with a Chinese media outlet, adding "It seems that getting married and having a baby may gradually make me lose many projects".

The remark immediately garnered mixed reactions from the public, calling his comment "insensitive."

Contrary to Song Joong Ki's statement regarding fatherhood, here's a list of actors who continue to strive and thrive in showbiz despite having a family.

Hyun Bin

Like Song Joong Ki, fellow top star Hyun Bin recently welcomed his baby with Son Ye Jin in November 2022.

Despite being busy with his dad life, he is also juggling his work as an actor. In fact, he has back-to-back projects for 2023.

After "The Point Men" with Hwang Jung Min, he is set to headline Harbin," a historical movie with Jeon Yeo Been.

 Lee Byung Hun

After marrying "Boys Over Flowers" actress Lee Min Jung in 2013, and welcoming a son in 2015, Lee Byung Hun continued to star in hit K-dramas one after the other.

From his award-winning series "Mr. Sunshine" in 2018 to the blockbuster Netflix series "Squid Game," the 52-year-old actor is still recognized as one of the sought-after male stars in his generation.

Park Hae Soo

As for Park Hae Soo, having a kid is a blessing to his career.

At the height of the "Squid Game" craze, his agency, BH Entertainment, confirmed that the actor and his wife had welcomed their first son.

After the Netflix series, Park Hae Soo starred in another hit K-drama, "Money Heist: Korea," playing the role of Berlin.

In addition, he also joined the cast of the blockbuster series "Narco-Saints" with Hwang Jung Min and Ha Jung Woo.
