Go Min Si Shares Unforgettable Advice From 'Smugglers' Co-Star Kim Hye Soo

Go Min Si revealed the remarkable advice she got from "Smugglers" lead star Kim Hye Soo and her experience acting alongside top stars.

The 28-year-old actress plays an interesting character in the upcoming movie along with Yum Jung Ah, Jo In Sung, Park Jung Min, Kim Jong Soo, and more. 

For her big screen comeback, Go Min Si took on the role of Go Ok Bun, a coffee shop owner by day and an information broker at night.

In an interview with local media outlets, the actress expressed how honored she is to be part of "Smugglers" and work alongside notable stars. 

Go Min Si Spills What Kim Hye Soo Was Like Behind the Camera

Describing it as a "great experience," Go Min Si said she "took a close view" of her co-star's acting. 

Interestingly, she praised Kim Hye Soo, whom she described as having "tremendous screen presence," and said that she "learned a lot" from her.

Besides being a great senior to Go Min Si, the actress recalled the time when she first met the award-winning actress after being casted in "Smugglers."

As obtained by a media outlet, she shared that she had her first personal interaction with Kim Hye Soo in the vanity van on-site.

"She told me that she saw me in the film 'The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion', and that she wrote down my name since I was so impressive," Go Min Si recalled, as mentioned by a media outlet.

Because of the veteran actress' status in the industry, Go Min Si admitted that she felt intimidated and even doubted herself about whether she "could perform well among those great actors."

With this, she thought to herself "not to burden" her co-stars; however, it all changed when she got close with Kim Hye Soo. 

"I remember during one table read, Kim Hye Soo grabbing my hand and telling me, 'You are very good. I'm very excited to work with you.'. I will never forget that moment," the 28-year-old actress revealed.

Additionally, she also mentioned that her co-star's advice "filled up" her heart. 

Kim Hye Soo's Advice That Struck Go Min Si

As the actors and the whole team wrapped up the shoot and did promotional activities ahead of the premiere, Go Min Si shared a moment where she and the award-winning actress chatted until 6 a.m. inside her hotel room.

One of the highlights of their conversation was Kim Hye Soo's remark regarding doing her best. 

The actress told Go Min Si not to be harsh on herself. 

"Doing so could help you achieve more detailed and convincing acting. But you should love and take good care of yourself if you want to work for a long time,'" she recalled, even talked about an experience similar to what Go Min Si felt. 

"Smugglers" is Go Min Si's return to the silver screen after the 2020 film "Set Play."

On the other hand, the upcoming film officially hits theaters on July 26.
