After the long wait, viewers finally get to see the reunion between Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan as they portray deserter hunters in "D.P." season 2.

Officially released on July 28, the hotshot duo, Private Ahn Joon Ho (Jung Hae In) and corporal turned sergeant Han Hyo Yeol is back with a new set of missions.

Based on the webtoon of the same name, with Han Jun Hee of "D.P." season 1 and "Hit-and-Run Squad" as the director, the sequel delivered unexpected twist and turns and, at the same time, deeper stories from the deserters.

'D.P.' Season 2 Cast

As mentioned, the second season showcased a mix of returning and new cast members, adding more color and excitement to the story.

Joining Ahn Joon Ho and Han Hyo Yeol under the D.P. team is Sergeant Park Beom Gu (Kim Sung Kyun), who is under investigation following the Cho Suk Bong case. However, he is still with the D.P. team and is the direct supervisor of Joon Ho and Hyo Yeol.

Meanwhile, Captain Im Ji Sup (Son Seok Koo) was transferred to a different unit but still connected with the D.P. team, especially with the Kim Ru Ri case.

As for "D.P." season 2, the story involves the army headquarters, with Ji Jin Hee taking on the role of General Gu Ja Woon, while Kim Ji Hyun plays Lieutenant Colonel Seo Eun.

Lastly, Jung Suk Yong portrays Ja Woon's right hand, military investigator Oh Min U.

Viewers also get to see Go Kyung Pyo reprising his role as the military soldier, as well as "Weak Hero Class" star Choi Hyun Wook, and "Juvenile Justice" actress Lee Yeon as Joon Ho's sister.

D.P. Season 2 Highlights

In the first half of the season, "D.P. 2" introduces the case of Kim Ru Ri, a private soldier who experienced bullying and torture by his superiors. As a result, he got his revenge and killed several colleagues after shooting them inside the barracks.

The incident led to more suspicious activities inside the military that the government wanted to cover up.

However, the D.P. team wanted to expose these to prevent more suicides and deserters in the military.

Will There be 'D.P.' Season 3 on Netflix?

Interestingly, viewers were left hanging after "D.P." season 2's ending featured Cho Suk Bong, a former deserter who was in a state of coma after threatening his colleagues.

In the last part, the story hints at a possible new sequel after Suk Bong, who recovered from the incident, visited Ahn Joon Ho in the military.

With this, viewers speculate that "D.P." season 3 might feature his story as one of the pieces of evidence the D.P. team has against the army in the investigation.

However, Netflix is yet to confirm whether "D.P." season 3 gets the green light.
