When it comes to TV series, Kim Mi Kyung is surely one of the fan favorites of K-drama eomma as she often plays the mother role. Interestingly, this is also the reason she had the moniker of Korea's "national mother."

During her guest appearance in JTBC's TV show "Salty Pawn Shop," she spoke about her experience portraying the character and tdishes on her relatinship with the actresses and actors she worked with.

Kim Mi Kyung Reveals Closeness with Two On-Screen Daughters

As mentioned by a media outlet, Kim Mi Kyung has played mother to over 70 on-screen children throughout her entire career.

According to the actress, she "doesn't often meet" them after the drama has concluded; however, there are two actresses that stood out and said that she still calls her their mom. 

"I'm particularly close to Jang Na Ra. She often visits my house," she said. Another actress that Kim Mi Kyung mentioned is another K-drama goddess, Kim Tae Hee.

"I'm also close to Kim Tae Hee. My daughters are all beautiful and talented," she said, showing her deep affection towards the younger generation of actresses.

Kim Mi Kyung worked with Jang Nara for "VIP" and "Go Back Couple." She was also present during her wedding and showcased their mother-daughter chemistry on photos.

Gusing over the lovely bride, the 59-year-old actress showered the actress with sweet words as she officially tied the knot with her non-celebrity boyfriend. 

"The picture I've been waiting for. The day that my Nara, my pretty Nara, got married. It's obvious that this smart girl will live well, but I hope you have the happiest, coolest, and funnest life!" she wrote.

As for Kim Tae Hee, the veteran actress played her mother in the hit 2020 tvN K-drama "Hi Bye, Mama!"

They were last spotted along with the cast of the series as they watched the "Crash Landing on You" musical to support Yoon Sa Bong, Lee Kyu Hyung, and Heo Gyu Nim.

Kim Mi Kyung Talks About Playing Mother Roles for Years

As a K-drama fan, you'll know it's going to be a good story when you see Kim Mi Kyung portraying a mother role.

However, during her interview with "Salty Pawn Shop," she shared that there's also a con to it.

According to the actress, she seemed to age a lot because of the characters she portrays. 

Meanwhile, Cha Ji Yeon joked about being the same age as fellow celebrities like Yoo In Na, Han Ji Min, and Son Ye Jin, but in response, Kim Mi Kyung said, "I'm younger than Jun Ji Hyun, but I look older."

Her last K-drama appearance was in the medical comedy series "Doctor Cha" where she takes on major supporting character Oh Deok Rye, the loving mother of Cha Jung Sook, played by Uhm Jung Hwa. 

She is set to return to the small screen with another mother role, this time Shin Hye Sun's on-screen mother in "Welcome to Samdalri."
