Lee Joon Gi talked about his experience filming the upcoming K-drama "Arthdal Chronicles" season 2, and dished on his co-star that he got starstruck working with.

Ahead of the much-awaited premiere, the cast Jang Dong Gun, Lee Joon Gi, Shin Se Kyung, Kim Ok Vin, and the director graced an online production presentation to discuss the soon-to-be-released sequel.

The forthcoming season is a mix of returning and new cast members. Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ok Vin reprise their roles as Tagon, the first King of Arthdal, and his wife, Tae Al Ha.

Meanwhile, Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung take on the roles of Saya and Tanya, which were initially played by Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won.

Lee Joon Gi Says He 'Got Really Nervous' Working With Jang Dong Gun

As the cast talked about "Arthdal Chronicles" season 2, Lee Joon Gi shared how he is honored to work with Jang Dong Gun.

As he revealed his honest thoughts about working with the senior star for the first time, he shared that he "got really nervous" upon hearing that he would be in the same series as him.

"He was my idol when I was a young man. My dream of working in the same drama as him has finally come true," Lee Joon Gi said, as obtained by a news outlet.

Moreover, the South Korean heartthrob recalled his experience during pre-production, specifically during the initial camera test.

"I was out of breath in shock by how great he was," he said, referring to Jang Dong Gun, adding, "Watching him play 'Tagon' made me worry if my 'Eun Seom' could match his level of intensity."

Moreover, the actor said that he got "cold feet" before filming.

According to Lee Joon Gi, Jang Dong Gun perfectly portrayed the role. Not only that, because he exuded leader material. The senior star was able to lead the cast "so well" during the production.

"He was someone I could rely on, and I've learned a lot while working with him," Lee Joon Gi said, expressing his huge admiration and respect for his co-star.

'Arthdal Chronicles' Season 2 Release Date, Where to Watch

The long wait is over for fans of the epic fantasy K-drama "Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun" as it returns this September.

The story will continue a decade after the last scene in season 1. "Arthdal Chronicles" screenwriter Park Sang Yeon hints at what to expect in the upcoming series.

He said that Tagon and Tae Al Ha will showcase a "game of doubt and trust," suggesting that the royal couple will experience tension within their relationship.

Moreover, Kim Young Hyun also hinted that the sequel will focus on "choices and conflicts between love and duty" for the two main characters, Eun Seom and Tanya.

Meanwhile, the "Arthdal Chronicles" season 2 release date is set for September 9 at 9:20 p.m. KST. Viewers will get to watch this every Saturday and Sunday via tvN and Disney+.
