Kim Hieora's former school has responded to the controversy after facing backlash due to its involvement with the actress' controversy.

The public was stunned after Dispatch revealed a report saying that "The Glory" actress was among the members of the infamous Iljin Gang at Sangji Girls' High School.

Following reports and statements from the former students and Kim Hieora herself, it was revealed that the institution also faced backlash after being involved in the controversy.

Kim Hieora's Alma Matter Speaks Out Amid Bullying Controversy

In a report cited by a media outlet, Sangji Girls' High School, Kim Hieora's former school, said that they like to "correct" the misconception regarding their school.

After confirming that Kim Hieora was one of their students 20 years ago after entering the campus in 2004, Sangji Girls' High School released a statement addressing "dishonorable perception" towards the institution.

"Due to Internet articles, many parents and students are accusing our school of 'iljin gatherings and school violence," the statement reads, adding, "This seemingly widespread and dishonorable perception is causing misunderstandings, and we would like to correct that."

Moreover, the school also takes pride in how they resolve things within the institution through their programs, along with parents, students, and teachers.

"We are resolving conflicts between students by organically collaborating with the pupils, teachers, and parents through a character education program."

Moreover, the school also reiterates that their top priority is the "safety" of the students as well as their growth.

As for the Iljin gang called the "Big Sangji," the institution said that "there is no factual coverage or interview" relating to the actress, adding that the "content of the article does not match the current educational activity situation for the 2023 school year."

Due to this, Sangji Girls' High School said that the reputation of the students, parents, faculty, and staff "has been tarnished because of the school's name."

Moreover, they also expressed disappointment in publishing the photo of the school's campus.

It can be recalled that Dispatch revealed evidence showing Kim Hieora's involvement with the bullying allegations, which contain photographs and reactions from her former classmates.

Meanwhile, the actress did not deny that she was part of the group but pointed out that she never harassed or bullied her fellow students.

'The Glory' Stars Lim Ji Yeon, Park Sung Il Support Kim Hieora

After the news broke, "The Glory" cast showed their support for Kim Hieora as she faced public scrutiny due to the incident.

Lead stars Lim Ji Yeon and Park Sung Il by liking Kim Hieora's Instagram post, which contained her public apology.

Unfortunately, not all netizens were happy about it and were underfired for showing support to their "The Glory" co-star.
