‘Song of the Bandits’ Episodes 1-4: Kim Nam Gil & Yoo Jae Myung Lead Troop to Protect Their Countrymen

Netflix's newest action-hero drama "Song of the Bandits" starring a brilliant cast of Kim Nam Gil, Yoo Jae Myung, Seohyun, Lee Hyun Wook, and Lee Ho Jung finally premiered and made waves online for its classic-historical genre.

Lee Shin parted ways with Lee Gwang Il and decided to return to Gando and joined forces with the army commander Choi Chung Soo. They recruited men who specialized in using different weapons to join them in protecting fellow countrymen. 

Episode 1: Lee Yoon Returns to Gando to Meet Choi Chung Soo

As the past continued to hunt him, Lee Yeon (Kim Nam Gil) decided to create his path and parted ways with his friend Lee Gwang Il (Lee Hyun Wook). 

With the help of Kim Seon Bok, Lee Yeon returned to Gando to be killed by Choi Chung Soo (Yoo Jae Myung), the person to whom he owes a big apology, as he killed the army commander's family six years ago. 

But along his way, Lee Yeon met Eon Nyeon (Lee Ho Jung) who disguised to kill him but failed. Lee Yeon witnessed the poor life of the Joseon people, which woke him up to do something. He was able to kill the leader of the gang and bring back one of the civilians' daughters alive. 

Episode 2: Choi Chung Soo & Lee Yoon Join Forces to Protect Their People

After what Lee Yeon did, Choi Chung Soo teamed up with him and recruited people to join their troop namely Kang San Gun, Choraeng Yi, and Geumsu who specialized in different weapons. They attacked the army base camp and destroyed it. 

Elsewhere, Gwang Il proposed to Nam Hee Shin (Seohyun) and was in preparation for their wedding. Back at the army camp, Lee Yoon confessed he had feelings for Hee Shin to Choi Chung Soo.

As the story progressed, it was revealed that Hee Shin was a member of the Independence Army Gang, and the gang needed a large amount of money for a mission. She was then introduced to Eon Nyeoni and they planned on how they would rob the money from the Japanese men.

The Bandits, Independence Army, and Japanese Army were all eyeing for the money. 

Episode 3: Nam Hee Shin Hires Eon Nyeon for A Mission

Gwang Il arrested his uncle, who is the leader of the Independence army. He tortured him to reveal the names and details of the upcoming plans of the gang. Despite the intense torture, he snatched the gun and killed himself to protect the gang. 

Gwang Il received information that something was happening on the Gando Line and had the idea that they may be planning to loot the train. Together with his army, they decided to safeguard the money. 

Eon arrived in Gyeongseong and strategized to loot the money. Hee Shin also arrived in the same place and Lee Yoon saw her in the market and was curious about her sudden visit there. Before he could follow her, Eon pointed her gun at him and an intense fight between the two happened. They ended up in jail and learned that another gang was also planning to loot the money.

Episode 4: Will Nam Hee Shin & Eon Nyeon Succeed in Their Plan?

Gwang Li tried to get the trust of his senior. After they agreed on something, Gwang Li along with the army headed to Gyeongseong. 

Kang San Gun and Choraeng Yi were tasked to kill the manager of the railway so they could get the money.

Elsewhere, the van carrying the money was chased by a group of dacoits and soon got killed by the guards. Lee Yoon's group waited for the right time before heading to the van. Unfortunately, the money was not there and they got tricked. 

Later on, it was revealed that it was all Eon's plan. She was able to get the money and bring it to Nam Hee Shin. The two succeeded in their plan and ran away together.
