Lee Min Ho is overwhelmed by the love and support from Filipino fans as he returns to the Philippines after 7 years.

The South Korean top star greeted the audience with a warm smile during the media conference for property developer SMDC, where he serves as a brand ambassador.

During the event, the actor briefly talks about one particular K-drama that seemed to influence a lot of his fans.

Lee Min Ho Reveals Inlufence of His K-Drama 'Boys Over Flowers'

According to Lee Min Ho, fans still call him Gu Jun Pyo, his character in "Boys Over Flowers."

Despite the drama airing more than a decade ago, the actor said that he was "surprised" and amazed at the same time by the K-drama's popularity.

"There are still people who call me Gu Jun Pyo, and I'm very surprised by this to think that Boys Over Flowers 13 or more years ago. It's amazing to see how a project from so long ago can be continuously influential to other people and continuously remembered by people."

In the same report, the 36-year-old top star revealed his characteristics in choosing his next project.

As explained by Lee Min Ho, he wants his K-dramas and movies to have a huge impact on fans and be remembered for years, just like "Boys Over Flowers."

"For 'Pachinko' Season 2 and my other dramas, I always try my best to create different projects that can also last for years and decades and people will remember."

Other than "Pachinko" and the 2009 hit K-drama, which is considered Lee Min Ho's big break in show business, he also starred in notable series like the action-packed "City Hunter" with Park Min Young, "The Heirs" with Park Shin Hye, "The Legend of the Blue Sea" with Jun Ji Hyun, and, of course, "The King: Eternal Monarch" with Kim Go Eun.

Interestingly, he is set to return to the small screen with another K-drama royalty for the rom-com "When the Stars Gossip."

Lee Min Ho takes on the role of OB-GYN Kong Ryong, who joined a tour expedition to space led by Korean American astronaut Eve Kim, played by Gong Hyo Jin. The upcoming K-drama plans to air its pilot episode in 2024.

In addition, he will reprise his role in Disney+'s "Pachinko" season 2 with veteran actress Youn Yuh Jung, which will also be released in the same year.

Starting his career in the early 2000s, Lee Min Ho managed to make a name for himself as one of the sought-after leading men in K-drama.

According to him, the secret to his career longevity is loving the people who believe in him.

"Also, whenever I try to do a new project, I try to set a new separate goal or a specific objective that I want to achieve."

He added that the actor sees to it to do his best and stay true to himself in everything he does.
