Yoo Seung Ho Shares Reason for Starring in 'The Deal'

Yoo Seung Ho sat down for an interview on the morning of October 23. The celebrity made his small screen return through Wavve's original series "The Deal."

His drama premiered last October 6 and features the story of three former high school classmates who get together for drinks for the first time in a long while. However, unexpected things happen when two of them cruelly decide to kidnap the other, and the ensuing complications lead the three to a dark and turbulent path.

Yoo Seung Ho broke into Jun Sung's character, one of the main leads. He shaved his head and introduced a new unconventional role that the viewers haven't seen from him before.

Diving into his new work, the "Moonshine" star shared his first impression when he got the drama's script. According to the leading man, the director suggested the drama to him first, and since it was a unique story, and had been wanting to explore the thriller genre, Yoo Seung Ho got interested in the work.

However, since he knew that it was not easy to change his image, it was a bit challenging for him. In the end, he enjoyed reading the script and made up his mind to accept the project.

Yoo Seung Ho Confesses Smoking Again Due to Character in 'The Deal'

When talking about the embarrassing scene he had in the series, Yoo Seung Ho revealed that it was when he needed to smoke or swear in the scene, because his hands trembled. Since it was his first time smoking in front of the camera, he got nervous.

"I trembled so hard that I could see it on the screen." In explaining the reason behind the tension he had during the specific scene, Yoo Seung Ho said, "I was so nervous because it was my first time playing a scene like that and cameras were focused on me. I also got worried on how it will come out in the series."

Yoo Seung Ho also confessed that since the some parts of the drama required him to smoke and swear, he needed to adjust.

"I was originally a smoker, but I already quit a long time ago. But I started smoking again for this project, as it was required for my character."

In addition, Yoo Seung Ho also got conscious of his scene swearing as he had never done it before. In order to make it sound and look natural, the actor tried to rehearse until he was already satisfied with his performance.

Meanwhile, as the first four episodes of "The Deal" were already released, the remaining four episodes are expected to hit the small screen on October 27.

Apart from Yoo Seung Ho, rising stars Yoo Su Bin and Kim Dong Hwi are also the main protagonists of the drama.
