Director Lee Jae Gyu Reveals Park Bo Young's Kind Personality

The "Daily Dose of Sunshine" cast members Park Bo Young, Yeon Woo Jin, Jang Dong Yoon, Lee Jung Eun, and director Lee Jae Gyu faced the public for the first time on November 1 during the drama's media conference.

Ahead of the long-awaited release, the cast members and the creative head of the series shared some of their behind-the-scenes stories while working on the project, and the discoveries they found about each other.

One of the things that caught everyone's attention was the drama's director's remark about Park Bo Young. During the press conference, Lee Jae Gyu got candid and expressed his admiration for the drama's lead actress. He complimented her big heart and also worried that it would affect her well-being.

"Park Bo Young cares more about others than herself. I was worried that she might get hurt emotionally. If she's too considerate to people, it might affect her mental health."

Park Bo Young Perfectly Embodies Her Character's Personality

As he continued, Lee Jae Gyu mentioned that Park Bo Young was like her character in the series who puts others first. The "Abyss" star plays the role of Jung Dae Eun, a nurse at a psychiatric department.

According to the director, "Da Eun also believes it's more important for patients to be comfortable than for herself to be comfortable. There was a moment when I saw Park Bo Young and felt she one-upped Jung Da Eun."

Aside from the director, co-star Yeon Woo Jin said that the actress was just like her character, and shared behind-the-scenes anecdotes about Park Bo Young's true personality toward the staff while filming.

"While filming, we spent the holidays and Christmas together. She became Santa Claus for us, she cooked for us on holidays, and prepared gifts by hand, giving us a lot of healing."

Indeed, Park Bo Young's sweet gestures and kind personality are appreciated by her colleagues.

"Daily Dose of Sunshine" is ready for release this November 3 on Netflix and will feature the story of Nurse Jung Da Eun, who works in psychiatry for the first time, encountering the world and the wounds of people, suffering from mental pain.

This will be Park Bo Young's comeback drama after three years.
