Philippine Remake of 'What's Wrong With Secretary Kim' To Meet Viewers in 2024

On November 21, the famous online streaming platform VIU officially dropped teasers of the much-awaited release of "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim" Philippine remake.

Filipino stars Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu are confirmed to headline the series. They are two of the prominent actors in the Philippines and who already starred in various projects. As they team up for the first time, many fans are already anticipating the kind of chemistry they will showcase on screen.

This will be Kim Chiu's second time to appear in a Philippine remake of a Kdrama series following the 2005 hit rom-com "My Girl."

It has been said that the project is a partnership between ABS-CBN Entertainment and VIU. The famous production company, Dreamscape Entertainment is expected to produce the series and is scheduled to grace the small screen sometime in 2024.

The highly rated Korean drama first aired in 2018, starring Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young. It is based on the webtoon of the same name penned by Jeong Kyeong Yoon.

"What's Wrong With Secretary Kim" features the story of Kim Mi So, the long-time secretary of Lee Young Joon, the genius but arrogant vice chairman of a big company. Kim Mi So decides to resign after nine years, but her boss does everything to stop her.

Almost five years since it aired, the office-based romance drama continues to amass global popularity. In fact, in 2021, it was the most-voted Korean series to have a Japanese remake.

Apart from the drama, its lead stars are also garnering recognition from the crowd. Park Seo Joon is now establishing his career in Hollywood after he made his debut in the American movie "The Marvels."

Park Min Young, on the other hand, is about to meet the viewers again beginning in January 2024 with her new romantic series "Marry My Husband." Introducing her newest leading man Na In Woo. Other stars to join the drama are Lee Yi Kyung, Song Ha Yoon, Lee Gi Kwang, and Gong Min Jung.
