Song Kang Expresses Thoughts on His Upcoming Enlistment: ‘I have no regrets’

After the release of Netflix's "Sweet Home 2," Song Kang expressed his feelings about his upcoming military enlistment.

Song Kang Talks About The Changes He Experience While Working on Netflix's 'Sweet Home 2'

In an exclusive interview on December 5, lead actor Song Kang talked about various things from his new series "Sweet Home 2," to his future plans. 

"Sweet Home 2" follows the struggle between Hyun Soo and the survivors, who leave the green home in a world where desire becomes a monster, and the emergence of another being and a mysterious phenomenon occur.

The heartthrob showed a more devastated world by taking on Chan Hyun Soo, a special infected person in the drama. He said, "I improved my emotions a lot after filming this series." 

He also shared his affection with confidence that he has improved a lot, especially in expressing his emotions, thanks to "Sweet Home 2."

Song Kang who just released two consecutive dramas this year through "Sweet Home 2" and "My Demon" is expected to be in the military when season 3 is finally released in summer 2024. 

Song Kang Has No Regrets of Starting His Military Service Soon

When asked about joining the army, the breakout star said, "I feel good. It's a duty of course. I've always been thinking about it. If I change my mind a little bit, I think I can improve and come back. I'm planning to show you a better performance after I fulfill my military duty."

However, Song Kang hasn't announced yet what field in the military he will be attending. 

As he is joining the military soon while establishing himself as a 'mainstream male character' with support from fans all over the world, might be disappointed. In response, Song Kang said, "The military is also my choice, and I have no regrets at every moment."

He added, "I have a plan to read more books there, watch movies and dramas, and study languages there. I don't know the military situation, so I'll have to go and see." He continued, "At first, I thought I was going to take a break, but when I looked at the video, I felt that I had to improve rather than take a break."

Meanwhile, he expressed his regret about the "Sweet Home" Part 3 saying, "It's a bit sad that it will be released without me. I worked hard to film it with them. I am sure that it will come out well, and there are also many changes in the series."
