Son Seok Koo Dedicates Heartfelt Post to Lee Sun Kyun: ‘Thank you, be happy’

Son Seok Koo joins a slew of celebrities who mourn the passing of actor Lee Sun Kyun. After the 48-year-old star was laid to rest, the "My Liberation Notes" actor dedicated a heartfelt post in honor of the late celeb.

Son Seok Koo Pays Tribute to Lee Sun Kyun

In Son Seok Koo's Instagram post, he shared a heartwarming message for his senior, Lee Sun Kyun.

"It was a short conversation of less than a few hours, but it was an honor, fun, and warm. I pray from the bottom of my heart that you are at ease. Thank you very much, my senior. Be happy."

In the comments section, his IG followers expressed the same sentiment and mentioned how heartbreaking it was to hear the sad news about the actor.

Other than Son Seok Koo, several celebrities also mourned Lee Sun Kyun's death.

"Taxi Driver" star Kim Eui Sung, known as one of the close friends of the late star, also paid tribute by dedicating an Instagram post.

In a lengthy message, he confessed that he had mixed emotions and felt despair that he would no longer see his close friend.

However, he wished that he would "rest comfortably in a place without humiliation and pain."

The same goes for Jung Woo Sung, who also attended his burial and posted a photo of the late actor along with the caption:

"Sun Kyun, did you reach comfort? I hope you reached comfort."

Adding to the list of stars who attended the burial ceremony were Gong Hyo Jin, his co-star in "Pasta," as well as Ryu Seung Ryong and Lee Sung Min.

Lee Sun Kyun's Passing

On December 27, 48-year-old Lee Sun Kyun was found dead in an apparent suicide in Seoul. It was amid his battle with the drug scandal that his name got dragged along with other celebrities and influential people.

Lee Sun Kyun left an alleged suicide note as his last message to his wife, actress Jeon Hye Jin, stating that he "cannot do anything else" and that "there is no other way but this."

He also sent a message to his management agency, apologizing due to the "overwhelming" penalties for breaching advertising and movie contracts brought by the scandal.

Lee Sun Kyun is known for his hit K-dramas "Coffee Prince" with Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye, as well as the rom-com "Pasta" and the webtoon-based series "Dr. Brain."

His 20-year-long career made him a household name and rose to international fame after joining the cast of the Oscar-winner movie "Parasite."
