'Reply 1988' Cast Reunion: Actors Rumored to Get Together

On January 4, Ryu Jun Yeol sat for an interview to promote the forthcoming release of his movie "Alienoid" Part 2. During the exclusive interview, he also discussed his hit series "Reply 1988."

In 2015, the drama aired, starring  Park Bo Gum, Lee Dong Hwi, Lee Hyeri, Go Kyung Pyo, and Ryu Jun Yeol. It is also known that it is one of his representative works.

"Reply 1988" is the third of tvN's "Reply" series, which followed the success of "Reply 1997" in 2012 and "Reply 1994" in 2013. Since it was a megahit, its main cast members also rose to stardom.

As the interview progressed, the award-winning actor was asked if there would be a chance that the "Reply 1988" cast members would have a reunion when it finally turned ten, just like how the "Reply 1997" cast members gathered on their tenth anniversary.

To recall, their get-together was recorded and uploaded on Lee Si Eon's YouTube channel.

Ryu Jun Yeol Expresses Interest in Reuniting With 'Reply 1988' Co-Stars

After learning that the former batch had a reunion, Ryu Jun Yeol was surprised and responded that he didn't know that the "Reply 1997" batch had a get-together.

"I suppose a 'Reply 1988' reunion could happen if there is a suitable platform."

He then resumed and shared:

"Recently, I was asked who is my closest friend in the industry. I was confused since I couldn't figure out when I call someone my close friend. Even If I only see someone once or twice a year, maybe I could consider them as my close friend if I feel a strong bond when we meet."

Ryu Jun Yeol went on, and revealed his closeness with the "Reply 1988" members. He also eagerly expressed reuniting with them.

"We've been constantly updating each other about our lives. I want to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series with them, and also get the chance to see them, with everyone in good health."

Furthermore, Ryu Jun Yeol's new movie "Alienoid" Part 2 is a sequel to 2022's Part 1. It's a sci-fi action film that is scheduled to meet the viewers in cinemas on January 10.

Other stars in the film are Kim Tae Ri, Kim Woo Bin, Jin Sun Kyu, Jo Woo Jin, Kim Eui Sung, and more.
