You Who Is From A Star" Jun Ji Hyun, Drunk and Curses Too
Through the SBS Wednesday/Thursday drama "You Who Is From The Stars" (script Park Ji Eun, director Jang Tae Yoo), the "Chosun insult" "That Byung Ja wench is turning tricks" will be popular.
On the 2nd episode of "You Who Is From The Stars" broadcast on the evening of December 19th, Do Min Joon (played by Kim Soo Hyun) said to Chun Song Yi (played by Jun Ji Hyun) "That Byung Ja wench is turning tricks". Chun Song Yi was upset saying, "Did you just call me a wench?"
Do Min Joon explained what the phrase meant. He said, "The 13th year of King Go Jong was a Byung Ja year but that year went through a tough drought and all the cofferdams in Korea dried out. People looked at that and said dried cofferdam. That became the origin of the word, "Arrogant" in Korean.
