Following reports about the actor's on-screen comeback following his military discharge, the 30-year-old actress is in talks to headline the rom-com K-drama. 

Lee Sun Bin To Potentially Team Up With Kang Tae Oh in 'Potato Research Institute'

In an exclusive report by Star News, Lee Sun Bin is in discussion to join the series "Potato Research Institute" and will take on an interesting character.

In the upcoming K-drama, the actress is offered to play the role of Kim Mi Kyung, a potato researcher with 12 years of experience at the Potato Research Institute. She may look like a hobo on the outside, but once she opens her mouth, she will talk nonstop about interesting biological terms.

Lee Sun Bin's character is also the one who carries out a secret project to create good potatoes. However, amid this, she finds herself developing a romance with So Baek Ho, played by Kang Tae Oh.

'Potato Research Institute' Cast, Release Date, More

"Potato Research Institute" is scheduled to air via tvN in the second half of 2024 or in 2025. Penned by Kim Ho Soo and director Kang Il Soo of "Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung," the upcoming rom-com K-drama focuses on a potato research institute situated in a rural area. 

Kang Tae Oh is offered to headline the series as So Baek Ho, the new director of the Potato Research Institute. Behind his swoon-worthy, perfect looks, Baek Ho feels like an outsider. 

According to reports, the actor's agency, Man of Creation, said that the forthcoming rom-com series "is a project that Kang Tae Oh is currently positively considering."

If the actor officially agrees to take on the role, "Potato Research Institute" will be his first K-drama after his military discharge. 

Meanwhile, this will be the first time that Lee Sun Bin and Kang Tae Oh will star in one drama, raising anticipation regarding the duo's on-screen chemistry. 

Other than the upcoming rom-com, the actress is booked and busy with multiple projects this year. 

What's next for Lee Sun Bin? 

The 30-year-old beauty has a ton of projects lined up for her this year. 

After "Boyhood" in 2023, she is set to return to the small screen and headline upcoming K-dramas "Super Couple," penned by Son Geun Joo of "Backstreet Rookie," as well as the action series "Mission 2: Possible" with Kim Young Kwang. 

As for the big-screen project, Lee Sun Bin also joins the thriller horror film "Noise." She stars alongside Kim Min Seok, Ryu Kyung Soo, Jeon Ik Ryung, and Han Soo-A as they portray the main leads. 

"Noise," which will air sometime in 2024, is her first movie since the 2022 film "Toxic."
