Actress Kim Bo-ra, known for her breakout role in the hit television drama "SKY Castle," has divorced director Jo Ba-reun just 11 months after the couple married, her agency confirmed Monday.

In a statement released by her management, Kim's agency said, "After thorough discussions, they mutually agreed to amicably complete the divorce process." The agency added, "We are sorry to those who cheered for her," and requested that the public refrain from "sensational reporting or speculative rumors."
Kim, 29, and Jo, 37, began dating after working together on the 2023 film The Ghost, in which Kim starred and Jo directed.
The pair kept their relationship largely private until they announced their marriage in June 2024.
The marriage, which was in the media spotlight at the time, reflected a new stage in Kim's life as she had previously opened up about her changing opinions on relationships and family life.
"Although I once expressed a strong desire for motherhood, my focus has since shifted toward personal growth and self-discovery," Kim said in a past interview. "I feel it's important to fully understand myself before taking on the role of a parent."
Kim rose to national prominence in 2018 with her role as Hye-na in SKY Castle, a satirical drama that explored South Korea's hyper-competitive education system and elite family dynamics.

For her portrayal of an innovative and ambitious schoolgirl, she garnered widespread praise and further established herself as a promising young actress in Korean entertainment.
In addition to her recent personal loss, Kim is dedicated to her acting work.
Her agency did not give any details on her future work, but said that she is not amending her work schedule.
Fans have largely expressed support for the actress, commending her for handling the separation with maturity and grace.
"She has quietly endured both love and heartbreak," the agency said. "Rather than judging her choices or pain, we hope the public will applaud her next steps as an actress."
