Actress Son Ye-jin and Lee Byung-hun showed a show of solidarity this week with happy photos that have been notable for their timing under fire.

On Aug. 27, Son uploaded a set of photos to her own Instagram, captioning, "Finally leaving! See you in Venice looking great!" She was photographed with Lee and actor Park Hee-soon at an airport lounge, peeping out with peace signs and beaming with smiles.
The apologetic performance came after weeks of internet controversy following a claim that Son snubbed a young co-actress during the shooting of her new film, Inevitable.
Lee had made light of the event at a press conference last month, prompting viral outrage.
Son also spoke to fans directly regarding another issue. "Did you know that my sub-account was unexpectedly erased? I have no idea why either~ I will attempt to recover it as quickly as possible!" she posted, following her second Instagram account vanishing suddenly the same day.

Her agency chimed in with her statement, stating to Xports News: "The actress herself did not delete it. She doesn't know why it disappeared either, so she is checking why it disappeared. We suspect it may be due to an artificial intelligence (AI)-based automatic censorship and blocking system."

Industry observers have pointed out similar mysterious account suspensions happening both locally and internationally in recent months.
During the earlier press event on Aug. 19, Son had reflected on her first role as a mother since giving birth in 2022.
"I felt natural with my child," she said. "A mother's maternal instinct is an important part of it. It was easy to immerse myself in the positive image of wanting to take responsibility for her family and show a warm motherly figure."
Lee responded with a throwaway comment. "What I saw on set was different," he said, clarifying that Son did not reply to questions from a child actor on set, leaving him to respond.
The remark was issued in jest, but clips were shared online fueled accusations of "child actor abuse."
The mother of the child actress stepped in later to make things clear. "I'm embarrassed too. It was a fun episode that was said jokingly, but we also feel wronged in some ways. There will be a chance to tell the story later. The truth is, she was kind."
The fuss has since died down, with fans recalling earlier acts of kindness Son showed to her young co-star.
Inevitable will make its Sept. 24 premiere and has been selected to compete at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, one of the "big three" festivals along with Cannes and Berlin.
