SBS, KBS And MBC Name The Year’s Favorite Couples

For SBS the decision was easy. The network awarded Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye the Best Couple Award for their spark-worthy chemistry in "The Heirs." There was no competition.

In fact, their chemistry was so impressive that fans hoped they might be dating in real life. And fans even wondered why Park Shin Hye hugged Kim Woo Bin so heartily at the drama's wrap-up party. Had she not already chosen Lee Min Ho's character Kim Tan in the drama?

"I've often been asked whether we are actually dating," said Lee Min Ho at the ceremony. "I thank the crazy and spontaneous Eun Sang for accepting me."

Park Shin Hye also had a few words to say about the dating rumors, which both actors have denied.

"I also heard the rumor that we were dating," she said. "I think it's because our onscreen chemistry was so convincing. Thank you."

MBC gave the Best Couple award to Lee Seung Gi and miss A's Suzy for their magical love story in "Gu Family Book. His character was half gumiho and hers was human. By loving him, she helped him control the monster part of him and become more human.

The two actors became good friends on set.

"It's all because of Lee Seung Gi oppa," said Suzy when she received her prize. "He was very considerate and I feel I owe the award to him."

He was equally gracious.

"I would like to thank Suzy for helping me create a romantic feeling on set," he said. "I would also like to thank the writers and the camera staff."

KBS found it hard to name a winning couple. The network could not choose a single best couple of the year but instead decided to name five.

Joo Won and Moon Chae Won got a nod for the medical drama "Good Doctor." Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum won for the melodrama "Secret." IU and Jo Jung Suk won for the weekend drama "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin." Kim Hye Soo and Oh Ji Hoo won for the drama "Queen of the Office." Lee Bum Soo and Yoona won for "The Prime Minister and I."

These were all worthy performances with charismatic chemistry. It is hard to choose one but it is unusual for an awards ceremony not to make a choice.
