tvN's weekend drama 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty' is proving to be a hit in terms of ratings and online chatter after its fifth episode, which centered on an emerging romance between the two main characters played by Lee Chae-min and Im Yoon-ah.
In Saturday's airing, Lee Heon (Lee Chae-min) wooed Yeon Ji-young (Im Yoon-ah) with a series of considerate acts, taking their relationship to the next level and building anticipation among viewers.
The episode had an average rating of 11.6 percent in the Seoul metropolitan area and 10.8 percent overall, as per Nielsen Korea.
Ratings were up to 13.2 percent in Seoul and 12.6 percent overall at its peak, beating all the channels in its time slot.
Yeon Ji-young, dazed by a surprise kiss, scolded Lee Heon for what had happened the night before. The script portrayed her tart tone: "Be careful with drinking tonight."
Later, rattled by an eyewitness testimony, Lee Heon took the counsel of his friend Im Song-jae (Oh Ui-sik).
To allude to the dialogue, Im Song-jae reassured him, urging him to give Yeon Ji-young something she would like.
The plot then shifted to Lee Heon's internal conflict. Starving and anxious, he recalled the presence of Yeon Ji-young. In a sweet moment, she served him chicken soup, triumphantly smiling as he ate it.
As Lee Heon fell deeper, competitors started cropping up. Kang Mok-ju (Kang Han-na) attempted to shoo him away by making her own dinner.
But Yeon Ji-young retaliated with an array of dishes that impressed not just Lee Heon but Prince Jesan (Choi Gwi-hwa) as well.

In the peak of the episode, Lee Heon gave Yeon Ji-young a greenhouse full of exotic plants and fruits, an act that signifies his respect. When he was probed on his reasons, he could not confess, "Because I'm starting to see you as a woman."
The final scene physically brought the leads together after Lee Heon tripped, with Yeon Ji-young attempting to grab him. The scene left audiences waiting to see how their romance goes.
