The story, as per Dramabeans, is a remake of the 2017 film Fabricated City, with Ji Chang-wook once again playing the lead role.

In the teaser, Ji portrays Park Tae-joong as "an ordinary deliveryman living an ordinary life." There is also a glimpse of his relationship with Pyo Ye-jin and a suggestion of a comfortable life that is shattered by tragedy.

Trouble starts when Tae-joong stumbles upon a lost phone. As the report explains, "Our unsuspecting hero doesn't realize, though, that this is all a setup because when he goes to return said phone to its presumed owner, Tae-joong ends up arrested and jailed for brutal crimes that he didn't commit."

The teaser, according to MBC, is focusing on the fight of Tae-joong to clear his name. "With his pleas of innocence falling on deaf ears, Tae-joong becomes despondent and unhinged baddie Ahn Yo-han (D.O.) is disappointed by Tae-joong's lack of fight," the publication added.

However, the twist comes when Tae-joong discovers the real truth about his situation. "ngrily throwing the blood money he's been given as compensation, Tae-joong thus begins his mission for revenge," Dramabeans reported.

The teaser also presents a glimpse of supporting actors, such as Kim Jong-soo, Jo Yoon-soo, and Lee Kwang-soo, who star in frantic action scenes.

From the production end, the production features impressive talent. Director Kim Chang-joo and PD Park Shin-woo are helming, with writers Oh Sang-ho, who also wrote the screenplay for Fabricated City.

The release timeline was also confirmed within the coverage. "Slated to premiere on November 5, Disney+'s "The Manipulated" will begin with episodes 1-4 on that same day. The story will then continue with two episodes a week thereafter."

With its star-studded cast and action-packed setup, the series is already generating a lot of buzz prior to its international release.
