In it, two former lovers reunite several years after parting ways, prompting them to revisit some memories that shaped their past.

According to Soompi, the movie focuses on the characters Eun Ho, played by Koo Kyo Hwan, and Jung Won, played by Mun Ka Young.

The two characters once shared a devoted and passionate relationship before time, distance, and misunderstandings slowly pulled them apart. The film is a Korean adaptation of the Chinese romantic drama "Us and Them."

The production explained, "Once We Were Us tells the story of Eun Ho (Koo Kyo Hwan) and Jung Won (Mun Ka Young), who once shared a passionate love, as they unexpectedly reunite after 10 years and revisit memories of their past."

The newly released poster captures the quiet yet charged mood between its two leads. Per Naver's written description, "The poster shows the subtle tension between Eun Ho and Jung Won as they stand side by side outdoors after a chance reunion on the airplane."

The image, with its subdued color palette, evokes the impression of lingering feelings that are not too distant. Eun Ho and Jung Won appear to be both close and distant, symbolizing the blend of nostalgia and uncertainty that emerges when past relationships resurface.

As was described in the caption from the promotional material, "Meeting again after 10 years, they look back on the past, asking, 'Why did we break up back then?'"

The unexpected reunion aims to resonate with audiences who have experienced separations that began with minor altercations. As the film goes on to state, "TTheir moment draws empathy, showing how many breakups, like theirs, start with seemingly trivial reasons that grow into separation."

The film "Once We Were Us" will hit Korean theaters on December 31, right in time for the annual holiday convention at the end of the year to watch. This will feature an introspective, emotional story surrounding youth, regret, and the possibility of reconciliation.

As anticipation builds, the poster gives us a first look at the fragile bond between the protagonists—and the questions that hang in the air when they meet again.
