Kim Go-eun sheds light on changes that have been occurring within the production crew in the Netflix mystery thriller series ''The Price of Confession.''

During an interview on December 12 at an event in Seoul, Kim addressed previous exits that caught people's attention before she began working on the show. The actress plays Mo-Eun, an enigmatic character who becomes associated with a murder with Jeon Do-yeon's character, Yoon-soo.
The drama began with PD, or production director, Lee Eung Bok and actresses Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee. However, as told by OSEN, there were several changes in leadership after 2023 that causedcasting directors and actors to be replaced before Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Go Eun were on board.
A preface had been made before answering her questions on turmoil. Regarding this issue, Kim rolled up her sleeves and explained directly, "Actually, I don't really care about those things. Because there are countless times when a role, no matter how good it is, just doesn't work out for a particular actor," per Chosun Daily. She also mentioned that it occurs regularly within her career spanning a whole decade.
When probed on what made her decide on taking on the role given these changes, Kim answered it was due to previous knowledge on the script. She added, "I read the script as a monitor during the pre-production stage... I only remembered that the characters were appealing."
Moreover, there was motivation on her end due to collaboration opportunities with Jeon Do-yeon. The role came up while she completed filming Eunjoong and Sangyeon.
Kim talked about working together with the director on developing Mo-eun's character emotions. Before proceeding with the next quotation, it was noted that she talked about working on some drafts on the character.
She said, "In the first draft, the character of Mo-eun was originally conceived as someone who tries very hard to appear like a psychopath."
The actress also spoke about the difficulties of acting as a woman who keeps her emotions bottled up. She talked about finding Mo-eun's troubled inner life and using it for a plot twist that unravels at a certain point.
Despite having a tough role, Kim does not have any regrets. When posed with a joking question about tough times, she responded that shooting the drama was exhilarating and fun. She commended elderly co-actors and praised co-workers at the shooting site, as cited in OSEN.
