Shinhwa's Kim Dong Wan To Reprise Role In The Musical "Hedwig"

Shinhwa's Kim Dong Wan will be making a musical comeback as the transgender rocker "Hedwig."

On the 7th, representatives from the musical announced, "Kim Dong Wan will be once again portraying Hedwig in celebration of the 10th anniversary of 'Hedwig'."

Having already portrayed the character Hedwig in 2011, Kim Dong Wan was the perfect candidate for the role.

The singer-actor has been out of the spotlight since he decided to study language in Canada, but he will be returning to play a role in the musical.

A musical insider said about commented on Kim Dong Wan's skills, and said, "He is someone who has a lot of good points as an actor. He's very handsome, strong, and muscular on the outside, but he is detailed and has a keen eye. His charisma can capture the attention of the audience."

Kim Dong Wan promised the audience, "I will make sure to give a better and more improved performance compared to my portrayal as Hedwig three years ago."

Meanwhile, joining him in the cast are Song Yong Jin, Kim Da Hyun, Choi Jae Woong and Son Seung Won, who have al confirmed their participation in the musical.

"Hedwig" had its first show in 2005, and has sold out every performance since. The musical is scheduled to run until September 28.
