Lee Byung Hun And Lee Min Jung Seen Together In Los Angeles
Lee Byung Hun and his wife actress Lee Min Jung have been spotted together in Los Angeles.
After the actor's blackmail scandal, there was some question whether his marriage to Lee Min Jung would survive. Since the scandal first broke, the actress has been staying at her parents' home. But sources recently told Sports Seoul that she plans to return to her marital home and only stayed with her parents to avoid reporters. The same sources said the couple's marriage would not only survive the scandal but was stronger than ever. While such reports may have initially been received with skepticism, the couple's appearance together in LA indicates that they have not yet called it quits.
After the couple was seen together in Los Angeles, his agency, BH Entertainment, told Osen that they planned to go to America without telling anyone.
"It seems that Korean-Americans may have seen them out and about and began spreading the news," said the BH Entertainment representative.
Her agency MSTeam Entertainment, also confirmed that the actress went to Los Angeles to see her husband. He left on Oct. 20. They did not travel together.
"Lee Min Jung left for L.A. around last week and not on an official schedule," said an MSTeam representative.
Lee Byung Hun is currently in Los Angeles for talks regarding another G.I. Joe film, having appeared in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" with Bruce Willis. He is also promoting California as an honorary ambassador.
Before he left, he made a public apology, citing the regret he felt for any harm the scandal had done to his wife and family. The couple married in 2013.
Meanwhile, the second trial of Lee Byung Hun's blackmailers will take place on Nov. 11. At this point, his alleged blackmailer, GLAM's Dahee has written eight letters of apology. Her alleged co-conspirator, model Lee Ji Yeon has written two letters of apology.
The scandal began early in September when the actor reported the attempt to the police. He said that the blackmailers asked him for $5 million or they would release video footage of the actor engaged in a sexually explicit conversation. The women were charged and later admitted to the blackmail attempt.
When they appeared in court on Oct. 16 they claimed the actor was involved in a relationship with model Lee Ji Yeon and that the blackmail attempt was in retaliation for the breakup. The actor said he did not have a relationship with Lee Ji Yeon. He said that he saw them several times socially but decided to cut ties with them when he became aware of their financial problems.
There is no word on when Lee Min Jung plans to return to Korea.
