Choi Jin Hyuk Announces Military Enlistment Following 'Pride and Prejudice' Wrap Up

Actor Choi Jin Hyuk announced his upcoming military enlistment after the 'Pride & Prejudice' wrap up party. He had not received his notice for mandatory service in the military, but is preparing to enlist.” Choi Jin Hyuk anticipates receiving the enlistment notice in February.

"Pride and Prejudice" concluded on January 13 with a positive ending for Choi Jin Hyuk's Prosecutor Dong Chi. However, the tale of corruption with the legal system presented an ambigous ending for Moon Hee Man, leading fans to speculate over his fate.

MBC, the network which carried “Pride and Prejudice,” released a video featuring the actor and the cast on January 15. The video footage was shot during the after party for the program, on January 13.

Choi Jin Hyuk could be seen joking with the staff and other cast members before stating, “I will cooly enlist in the army after this project.”

His enlistment comes during a pivotal point in his acting career. Choi Jin Hyuk was introduced to Korean audiences in 2006 through the competition program "Survival Star Audition." He received praise for his portrayal of Gu Wol Ryung in the 2013 drama “Gu Family Book,” opposite Miss A’s Suzy and Lee Seung Gi. However, it was his role as Kim Won in “The Heirs” that helped catapult him into his present day stardom.

Choi Jin Hyuk followed “The Heirs” with “Emergency Couple,” where he starred opposite Song Ji Hyo of “Running Man” fame. He appeared in “Flowers Over Grandpas Investigation Team” then returned to the romantic comedy genre as Daniel Pitt in “Fated to Love You.”
