'Xbox One Experience' With Overhauled Interface; Microsoft Offers Fast Access To Notifications, Friends List, And Messages

The new Xbox One interface has come out with a new name - "Xbox One Experience." Program members can now choose and review the interface. MIcrosoft has released an extended eight minute video along with the release, highlighting the system's new offering later this year.

The video primarily spotlights two features of the new interface, "Xbox One Eperience." The first is "dashboard home screen and guide overlay", reported Gamespot. The home screen functions have a few accommodating changes.

One modification is, "how it moves your pins down to the bottom of the screen," said Gamespot

According to Richard Irving, there is a "big focus for this preview release" since the guide has dramatically transformed the whole Xbox One scenario. The player now needs to focus on only home screen scrolling over to the left screen while involved in any other activity during the game. Richard Irving from the Xbox engineering team explained that snapping to the left is meant to be easier for quick glances during gameplay, said International Business Times.

Offering quicker access to notifications, friends list, and messages, taking photos is effortless. Depending on the sources, apps and games, notifications are grouped and revamped broadly. Thus, recording a bunch of game clips will not require the player to handle other games or apps such as Skype in parallel with game play, said Gamespot

The interface "is a work-in-progress and will undergo rigorous updating and polishing with the help of our Xbox One preview members" said Xbox.com. The video is a direct outcome of the research, from fan feedback.

Some of the enhanced features include faster performance, improved game experience, vertical scrolling enabling faster access to activities and social content.
