6 Korean Horror Movies To Watch This Halloween Season

Here is the list of Korean horror movies that will surely make your Halloween night spookier. Please don't watch it alone and if you have a faint heart.

1. Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum (2018)

This movie is perfect if you are a fan of Blair Witch Project or Paranormal Activity. This movie tells a story about the infamous Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital. Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital is known to be a haunted place in South Korea where 42 patients mysteriously committed suicide in year 1979. This time a crew of horror web series had gone to explore and live stream the abandoned hospital.

2. The Wailing (2016)

This film received both critical and commercial success. This movie follows the story of a police officer who investigates a mysterious disease spreading in a remote village in Korea. A series of violent and brutal murders are happening. You should not watch this movie alone.

3. Train to Busan (2016)

This movie is considered to be one of the best movies in the zombie genre. Gong Yoo plays a divorced and workaholic man who takes his daughter to Busan to see her mother. What happens next is a zombie apocalypse and the passengers trapped on a speeding train fight for their lives.

4. The Mimic (2017)

This film is based on a classic Korean ghost story. The Mimic tells the story of a woman who is still mourning from her missing son. She moves to the countryside with her husband, mother-in-law, and daughter. Then she meets a mysterious mute girl and decides to take her in. She begins to experience things that make her wonder if the girl she adopted is even human. 

5. The Silenced (2015)

The Silenced is set in the year 1938. The movie revolves around a sickly young girl. She was transferred to a boarding school to recover her health. She began to be healthy again but her classmates disappear one by one. She discovered that something not normal is happening to her body.  

6. The Priests (2015)

The Priests is a movie about exorcism and demonic possession. A young girl was a victim of a hit-and-run accident and falls into a coma. They found out that she is possessed by an evil spirit that is more powerful than they thought.
