The much-awaited SBS drama, "The King: Eternal Monarch," has unveiled a new glimpse of the chemistry between the lead stars Lee Min Ho and Woo Do Hwan!

This drama is written by Kim Eun Sook, the famous writer that did the hit dramas "Goblin," "Descendants of the Sun," "Mr. Sunshine," and "Heirs." "The King: Eternal Monarch" is a fantasy romance drama that takes place between two parallel universes. In one universe, it is governed by democracy that features modern-day Korea as we know it, while the other one is an opposite universe in which Korea is an empire being led by a single monarch.

To be able to stop and fight the evil and totally close the entry point between their two worlds, the ruler of the Korean Empire-Emperor Lee Gon portrayed by Lee Min Ho then ends up joining forces with Jung Tae Eul, a detective who lives in the modern-day Korea who is played by Kim Go Eun.

Actor Woo Do Hwan will also be part of the cast in the drama as Jo Young. He will portray the chief imperial bodyguard and also Emperor Lee Gon's best friend. Both their friendship started way back before Jo Young took on his role as chief bodyguard of the Emperor. Lee Gon and Jo Young first met when they were just kids and they became close and grew up together in the imperial palace.

In spite of their positions in the place, technically being ruler and subject, the two longtime friends are closer than brothers. The producer of the drama described them as "soulmates."

On March 26, the most anticipated drama released some new stills that captured the one of a kind relationship of Lee Gon and Jo Young. It is given that both men should always be on their guard around others due to the nature of their positions. They typically wear a serious, authoritarian and intimidating expression that keeps their feelings.

Nevertheless, when they are left alone together, they are able to finally let their guard down and relax, finding a sort of oasis in one another.

As seen in one of the photos, it shows the typically stern and forbidding Lee Gon playfully breaching Jo Young's personal space with a devious smile, successfully catching the stone-faced soldier off guard.

The producers of "The King: Eternal Monarch" expressed that Lee Min Ho and Woo Do Hwan were able to naturally portray the soulmate relationship between the emperor and his chief bodyguard, and they were also able to make a warm atmosphere throughout the entire shooting. They continued asking the viewers to please watch out for Lee Min Ho and Woo Do Hwan, who will be catering to the challenge of making a new kind of transformation through their acting in the forthcoming show.

"The King: Eternal Monarch" is scheduled to air sometime in April, and everyone is excited for this drama to premiere!
